Tilfen Land's landfill facility LF3 is permitted to accept hazardous material - primarily contaminated granular soils classified as hazardous waste - from anywhere within Southern England.

It has an estimated remaning life of ten years.

The landfill is fully engineered to ensure there is no impact on the surrounding area and, on completion, the landfill (actually a land raising exercise) will form a hill with excellent views up and down the Thames estuary. Much of the site has been landscaped and planted and this, together with a wetlands project to treat leachate, provides a suitable habitat for wildlife including water voles and kingfishers.
